I usually update this on Sunday night and I’m sure you have all been patiently awaiting. I was too excited last night for Michael Phelps to even think beyond the next 5 minutes.
Anyway, here we go.
Uhh… I have nothing planned this week but work. If you feel like that should be remedied, feel free to let me know.
Even though I may post once or twice more tonight, for the next few days I will be blissfully MIA. I am going with some friends to the Upper Peninsula for 4 days to enjoy some camping, swimming, sightseeing, and much much more (ie: drinking). If my cell works, I’ll be sending a photo here and there, and if a bear gets me, I only ask that he continue to blog about pretty irrelevant stuff in my place. So to those that have just started paying attention, the silence will be ended suddenly and swiftly upon my return. And if the siren call of the wilderness takes root and I find myself unable to part with its majestic beauty, well, pour a 40 for me and nice knowin ya.
Crap, now I’m missing the UP. Also thanks for the map, it reminded that I was wrong on both lakes mentioned in the previous post. It was Lake Superior…
When I was a young pup I met a boy during summer camp in Michigan. He was on swim team for his high school and also played water polo. Oh, and he played string bass. It honestly can not get much sexier than that combination. Anyway, trips to the lake were always a blast as he was basically a fish. I remember specifically him treading water for about 15 minutes in Lake Michigan (or Eerie?) with me on his back. I would get tired of swimming and he was basically my life preserver.
He no longer swims, but watching water polo today and swimming tonight is making me think of the two summers I got to spend with him.
I live and work in New York. I have opinions on many things, some of which might be expressed here. If you agree or disagree, please feel free to let me know.
For the non-tumblrs that are reading, I'm more interested in you. I'd love to hear what you have to say.
